Follow Christ

To show His love for us, God created us in His image for relationship with Him. We were created to experience a personal relationship with God, to enjoy Him, and His creation. When we know God, love Him, and live in harmony with His purposes for our lives, it produces tremendous benefits—things like peace, fulfillment, confidence, and true life.

The problem is that we all have a natural desire to do our own thing and ignore God's principles for life. This attitude is what the Bible calls "sin." This breaks our close relationship with God, and mars us as people made in God's image. It causes us to fear God. When our relationship with God is not right, it causes problems in every area of our lives.

God loved us so much that He sent His son, Jesus, as a solution to our sin. Jesus came, lived among us, and taught us about God and His ways. He then died for our sin, in our place. Rising from the dead, He made it possible for us to be restored to a relationship with God, and find forgiveness for our sin.

Following Jesus means that we have come to the place where we admit we are away from God, that we need Him, and we trust in what He did to offer forgiveness and relationship. It means learning of Jesus, and His ways. When we choose to follow Christ, by His help we grow in our new relationship with God. This is the journey we want to help people with at Evangel. Your journey with Christ!
